Kaya Bio:

Kaya Tribe was formed in August of 2004 - Pat Mayer (Guitar/Vox), Jason Millbauer (Drums/Spiritual Guidance) & Chris Aldighieri (Bass Guitar/Vox) create the Kaya Tribe sound. With strong influences coming from Reggae, Hip Hop, Rock and Blues. All those different styles mixed up may explain the Kaya Tribe sound, but it must be heard to be fully understood. They take their musical guidance from bands such as, Sublime, Rage Against The Machine, No Doubt, 311, The Police, Pepper, Slightly Stoopid, Bob Marley, Peter Tosh, Long Beach Shortbus, Long Beach Dub All-Stars... and we could go on and on... Kaya Tribe has recorded a 13 song self-produced demo CD called "Double Deuce" and has been active in their new "home base" studio, Splittsville Studios in Clarkston MI. Kaya Tribe has played venues in Ann Arbor, Pontiac, Mt. Clemens, Howell, Port Huron, Hamtramck and Ypsilanti, and other surrounding Detroit areas, as well as venturing out to Cincinnatti OH, and plenty of house party's all over Michigan. In September 2005 Kaya Tribe got to open for Long Beach Shortbus. Kaya Tribe hopes to continue recording and have a new "fresh" CD out in the coming months, and will continue to play anywhere and everywhere they can.

In 1985 Ritual Detroit rose from the ashes of a company called Clutch Cargos. Clutch Cargos founders Vince Bannon and Amir Daiza, god rest their souls, started the company with a vision of bringing all the bands that rival Detroit concert promoters were too lame to know about. On New Years Eve, 1981 Clutch Cargos produced it’s first concert with a New Wave/ Post Punk era band from New York called the Bush Tetras.

Ritual has continued to be the concert promotion company for the developing artist. From the first Detroit concerts with Jane’s Addiction, Nirvana and The Pixies to today and tomorrow’s emerging artists. Ritual is a company that is built with people who started at the ground level and worked their way up. Most employees started by handing out fliers, loading band’s gear into the venues or bartending at the clubs. Although many of the venues have closed or been renamed and radio station formats have flipped, one thing has never changed. Ritual has remained true to artist development and is committed to bringing quality concerts to Detroit!

Allan Waters Passes

89 x busted the air waves of detroit and windsor with the Alt Punk sounds doing Major air play of bands reserved for college and Indie radio. This concept turned the Detroit radio scene upside down. We have seen many copy cats trying to do the same and ending up with a format change.

We will all miss Allan and his on the edge out of the box ideas.

I just caught the guys on Comedy Central's Daily Show with Jon Stewert it was a good performance. The seem to have it down I enjoy the new song My Door Bell. I am happy to see another local band find it's way to the big world of music.

89x The closest thing to an Indie station

I have been an "X" listener since day one....... I have seen 3 or 4 other stations try to take the listener base and olny go off the air. Things have changed over the years but 89x has tried to stay true to the "ALT" "Indie" scene. On of my favs is the homeboy show. The morning show with Dave and Chuck the freak is alot of fun also. Over the yers I have won several tickets and othe listener contest. Holly is also a blast what a team they have going.

They all hang on MySpace which is a cool webby thing.

Sony BMG recalls CDs with spyware

Sony BMG, a record label with almost 22 percent of the global market in CD sales, has admitted to hiding potentially dangerous anti-piracy software inside people's computers.

Having been busted, Sony BMG has apologized, launched a recall of CDs containing the cloaked program and offered to remove it from any infected hard drives. But the Texas attorney general is suing Sony BMG anyway, under that state's new anti-spyware law.

Even the U.S. Department of Homeland Security slapped the company: An advisory from the department's U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team says the software "can pose a security threat."
